Modalities:what are they?
Separately; they are a group of theories and ideaologies as to why something works. Together? They create a unique massage session that allows all areas of the body to be addressed: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Swedish Relaxation- A medium pressure broad massage approach designed to increase the feeling of relaxation, promote circulation of blood and nutrients through the body and helps to de-stress the body and mind.
Myofacsial Release - A deep tissue modality used to help correct chronic pain and posture related issues. Pressure is applied against the skin and held until the fascia responds by releasing.
NeuroMuscular Therapy - A deep tissue modality that is applied specifically to pain causing muscles. This releases any and all tension held in the muscle and surrounding fascia that causes chronic and constant pain and discomfort. This also addresses posture related issues.
Sports Massage - is a medium and deep tissue modality geared toward athletes and the particular stresses they place on their body. It is used to keep muscles pliable and prevent injury.
Reflexology- Used on the hands and feet, and sometimes the ears. Pressure is applied to specific points that correspond to reflexes throughout the entire body, promoting a sense of relaxation and healing throughout the physical structure, including the organs.
Polarity Therapy -A light and medium touch modality that works with the electromagnetic energy that runs through a body system. Polarity therapy unblocks and recharges the flow of life energy and realigns unbalanced energy as a means of eliminating dis-ease. It releases tension in muscles, and promotes a profound sense of calming.
CranioSacral Therapy - A gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It releases restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
Craniosacral for Pediatrics- Used specifically for infants and children up to age 10 with the intention of releasing and correcting dysfunctions of the central nervous system, which can eliminate chronic issues as the child grows.
SomatoEmotional Release- A therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma.
Christina has found that by integrating all these different types of therapies, it allows the maximum correction and healing to occur during a session. She has a keen ability to listen to what a client's body needs- and that is how the recipe is put together. The results? A session that leaves you feeling renewed, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
